Inspired by the vivid poetry of Gwendolyn Brooks, “we/Die soon.” explores death as an unromantic, terrifying, uniting constant of life. It is as random as it is undeniable.

This aleatoric rondo attempts to depict this existential fear by determining each episode by the roll of a dice, which occasionally ‘kills’ a player, removing them from the rest of the piece. Much like in real life, players do not know what the future has in store for them, and they don’t know when their time will end.
