Regular Elevator (2017) – 1 Act Play – Writer
“Regular Elevator” tells the fantastical story of four strangers living in an urban-fantasy metropolis who must magically join forces to just kind of wait out a broken elevator.
Regular Elevator is an award-winning comedy stage play written for Spontaneous Productions’ 24-hour play festival from September 15-16, 2017. It stars Page, a freelance witch, and her sarcastic, if slightly confused familiar, Humphrey, alongside the elven hippy cleric Ash and the emo-punk dragonborn teen Chaz. When they get trapped in an elevator on the way to Page and Humphrey’s big sales pitch, the four have to butt heads, form bonds, and figure out how to get out of this blasted elevator. It’s silly, frenetic, extremely nerdy, and full of heart.
Unfortunately, this one act was only performed once. There are no known recordings, and the original script has been lost to time.
But that doesn’t mean that these characters, and this story, aren’t worth revisiting…
